The Absolute E-Z Up Difference

Our company was founded on three basic values:

Low Level Access Lifts Folly Beach, SC

Safety - The Top Time Booster

When workers are injured, they're either placed on light duty or leave until they heal up and get back to work. This leaves you with the conundrum do you hire a new worker (which requires an initial expense) or reassign members of your staff to make up the difference? Obviously, neither situation is optimal. The biggest factor preventing these kinds of frustrating situations is workplace safety, which is why it's our top priority at AEUP. It doesn't matter if you buy a manual platform lift in Folly Beach, SC, or an electric stock picker. You can rest easy when you purchase equipment from us, knowing that AEUP aerial work platforms and material handling equipment come with the most innovative safety technologies.

A few of those safety mechanisms include:

  • Anti-tilt systems, helping to prevent toppling and turnovers.
  • Built-in pothole protection for driving equipment.
  • Double-foot sensors, which halts the machine from operating unless two feet are planted on the sensors.

Note: Depending on your needs, your machinery may or may not include some of these safety technologies. Please refer to specific product pages for more details.

FOLLY BEACH, S.C. (WCBD) – The future of short-term rentals on Folly Beach are still up in the air after a long discussion from city leaders Wednesday night.

Folly Beach Mayor Tim Goodwin says city leaders need to decide if there should be a cap on the number of rental properties are allowed as 41% percent of the beach is short-term rentals.

“I said to the council folks, this is a time for you to decide what you want it to look like. Do you want 80% residential and 20% rentals? This is where this is at,” says Mayor Goodwin.

Some city council members say looking at the best outcome for residents needs to be taken into consideration as well.

“We need livability and we have to control that. There needs to be a balance between short-term rentals and permanent residents,” says Folly Beach City Councilmember Billy Grooms.

Some people who live around town say new policies need to be in place.

“We’re never going to get rid of short-term rentals and that’s fine, but let’s just make them a little better for everybody,” says Mary Hadley, who lives on Folly Beach.

Hadley has lived on Folly Beach since 2014 and also works for a short-term rental company. She says she has short-term rentals in front and behind her house that are frequently rented out.

“It needs to be addressed more. There needs to be more accountability since more Vrbo’s and Airbnb’s have come up,” says Hadley.

Hadley says policies need to be enforced soon because she has seen dangerous rental situations.

“This spring we had over 100 underage high school kids renting the houses across from me. Their parents rent them illegally. It could’ve been an unsafe thing, but it was an unsafe thing,” she says.

Residents say they want what’s best for Folly Beach, but also what’s best for their own lives.

“It’s a beach community, we love it, and realize people want to be here. Let’s see what we can do to make it a livable place for those of us who are full-time,” says Hadley.

Mayor Goodwin says city council plans on having a first reading of the short-term rental ordinance by July or August.

FOLLY BEACH, S.C. (WCSC) - The official start to summer is just around the corner and as the temperatures rise, so do the number of crowds at local beaches. So, to help keep our beaches clean, one College of Charleston graduate student is at the forefront of a global initiative to clean select beaches in honor of World Ocean Day.

Cheyenne Cunningham realized last year that there weren’t any United Nations registered world ocean day events in either of the Carolinas. So, she decided to create her own.

Myrtle Beach, Folly Beach, Maui, and the Galapagos islands are the four locations where Cunningham has organized beach clean ups. Wednesday at Folly Beach, 20 participating organizations and about 150 people are expected to clean up the beach. They’ll be focused on four centralized locations that require the most attention.

Cunningham says although Folly Beach is clean, on weekends and holidays the trash can pile up and a few of the reasons are because of overflow and crowds.

“We’re going to be looking at the roadsides, we’re going to be looking at the boat launch, and we’re going to be looking along the public beach access and the public easements where sometimes it’s hard to keep the litter under control,” Cunningham says.

The goal of this initiative is for people to be aware of how they handle the environment and to respect the coastal ecosystem.

Beth Autlav has grown up going to Folly Beach, she says she’s noticed over the years with more and more people traveling here the trash negatively impacts the wildlife.

“Without our oceans, we really aren’t going to do well, are we? A lot of the beach animals come up. Like right now it’s sea turtle season and when they are in the ocean a plastic bag will look like jellyfish, so a lot of these animals are getting torn up by that,” Autlav says.

The cleanup at Myrtle Beach will start at the Myrtle Beach SkyWheel from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

The Folly Beach cleanup will start at the Tides Hotel from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Rob Gronkowski has retired from the NFL, again. But this time it seems like this is for good. Gronk is quite possibly the greatest to play the position, and is bound to be a first-ballot Hall of Famer.

In 11 seasons, he compiled 621 catches, 9,286 yards, and 92 TDs. He’s a four-time Super Bowl champion, five-time Pro Bowl and four-time All-Pro honoree.

As prolific as he was on the field, Gronk was the man off the field. A legendary partier and someone that loved to have a good time. Here’s a look back at five legendary moments in the rock star life of “Gronk.”

#5. Gronk and Big Papi like Dunkin’ Donuts

Gronk and Boston Red Sox slugger David “Big Papi” Ortiz got together for a new Dunkin’ Donuts commercial called “Dunkin’ Paradise.” The ad capitalized on the oversized gregarious personalities of the two New England sports heroes and the ubiquity of the Massachusetts based coffee and doughnut company.

#4. Gronk judges Isle of Palms bikini contest

It was the summer of 2015 and Gronk was fresh off his first Super Bowl title as the New England Patriots defeated the Seattle Seahawks. Gronk and his crew popped up on Folly Beach in South Carolina. The TE agreed to be a judge during a bikini contest at the Windjammer on Isle of Palms.

#3. Gronk makes his WWE debut

A lifelong wrestling fan, Gronk made his WWE debut at WrestleMania 33 in 2017. He teamed up with star and friend Mojo Rawley to help Rawley win the André the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.

Gronk has gone on to make several more appearances on WWE properties, including SmackDown. He hosted WrestleMania 36 and won the WWE 24/7 championship.

#2. White Tiger on “The Masked Singer”

Gronk competed on the reality singing competition “The Masked Singer” during season 3 and advanced to Super Nine.

He performed hits like “Ice Ice Baby,” “Good Vibrations,” “We Will Rock You,” and “I’m Too Sexy.”

#1. Gronk vs. Shaq dance-off

Ever wonder what it’s like to see two giant humans in a dance off? In 2018 at Shaq’s Fun House in Miami the basketball legend and Gronk showed off their moves on stage.

Shaq hosts an annual Super Bowl party the weekend of the big game in the host city. It’s part festival, part carnival, with live musical performances food and booze.

The former Patriots and Buccaneers tight end is headed for Canton as soon as he becomes eligible. He’s had a remarkable career on the football field, but his life off the field has seemingly been as much if not more fun.

If there is a Hall of Fame for partying and enjoying life, Gronk would be a first-ballot member in that one as well.

In the past several years we’ve seen networks shell out huge dollars to retain the broadcast services of former players. Gronk would be a welcomed addition to any studio show or game day broadcast team, if he so desires.

He has so many interests in addition to football it’s safe to say his post-playing career as some form of entertainer will go well.

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- The price of gas has flowed into almost all areas of life, but right now, a lot of the focus around gas prices is centered around summer vacation and travel plans.

KDKA's John Shumway just returned home from his annual pilgrimage to South Carolina. During his travels, he paid as little as $4.39 for gas and along the way, he checked in with some Pittsburghers who also were on the road.

Shumway and his family hit the road with around $80 worth of gas in the tank, rolling through West Virginia, and taking note of prices as they went.

While in Wytheville, Virginia, he ran into Frank Pidro, a Cecil Township resident, and together they commiserated as they filled their tanks.

"It's Virginia, they are always cheap, or great, but 4.50 a gallon? And we're happy?" Pidro asked.

Pidro says that gas prices do have an impact, but feels that it has a higher impact locally and that while on a road trip, you just kind of have to take it on the chin and deal with it.

Other local travelers headed south, like Will Crumrid of Washington, Pa. says that the declining gas prices aren't the only highlight of the drive.

"I love it. Easy, drive beautiful mountains on the way down and easy ride," Crumrid said.

And of course, the sun and sand on Folly Beach near Charleston at the end of the drive tend to make you forget how much more you paid for gas.

Donna Fiorentini, a Bridgeville resident, says their family made the drive down to celebrate an engagement.

"After being locked up for the past two years, we were ready to go," Fiorentini said.

Shumway says he didn't have to look hard to find folks from Western Pa. on the Carolina shores from Hilton Head to the Outer Banks -- it sure didn't seem like anyone was letting the high price for gas stop them from hitting the beaches.

John Shumway

John Shumway joined KDKA in October 1988 as a General Assignment Reporter. During his years at KDKA, he has anchored the morning and weekend news and is currently a featured General Assignment Reporter on the station's 4, 5 and 6 p.m. newscasts.
